Winter colour and print combo

We can all agree that winter months are generally dull and gloomy and very often, it impacts on our mood and style. So if you see yourself reaching for an all black outfit once too many, keep reading! I will introduce you to this season’s iconic pieces and offer fashion inspiration to nail the trends.

This year, fashion designers and editors-in-chief  alike have selected an array of fun patterns, textures and colours for us fashion addict to play with.

My fave combos include pairing raspberry red with checked print, mustard yellow and vinyl fabric, burnt orange and faux fur, slogan tees and sequins and last but not least, blush and pearls.

  1. Checked Print & RedChecked Print & RedA checked jacket/coat is a must have this winter! This Megan and Wally blazer has a 90’s Clueless feel to it and is paired beautifully with a red jumper. This one is from Red Valentino and features a delicate frill hem for added retro vibe.

2. Yellow & Vinyl

Yellow and VinylYellow is an instant mood booster and also the colour of choice for A/W18. The slit sides on this Lock & Key Carmen Cardigan makes it ideal to create an effortless chic look. Match it with this vinyl pant from Boohoo if you dare…

3.Orange & Faux Fur

Orange and Faux Fur

If you want to invest in only one key item this winter, choose faux fur. It’s a timeless classic that will give an instant luxury boost to your look. The San Diego Coat from Style Me Peachy will become your best friend, trust me! Although I prefer faux fur, I recently came across an article detailing the negative impact some synthetic fibres used to make faux fur has on the environment. The San Diego coat is made with sustainably sourced rabbit and lamb fur, and will go extremely well with soft hues such as white, blush and light grey. To make a statement, this burnt orange top from Missguided is your best ally.

4. Slogan Tee & Sequins

Slogan Tee and Sequin Skirt

Slogan tees and rock t-shirts are making a huge comeback, and they are definitely here to stay. 28 One Label specialises in high-quality slogan t-shirts, my favourite being ‘Fashion Stole My Money’ duh. If you’re a fan of Carrie Bradshaw, opt for a glamourous style with plenty of sequins. This pencil skirt is currently on sales at Portmans for $28.

5. Blush & Pearls

Blush & Pearls

This slouchy cardigan from Sundae Muse is made for weekend brunch hangouts. And what better way to style it than with a skinny jean embellished with pearls to nail another A/W18 trend? This one is available at The Iconic at a steal price of $54.
